Dr. Catherine Masterson is a clinical psychologist in private practice on Long Island in New York.
She is a psychologist at the
Bronx Psychiatric Center and Director of its APA approved Clinical Psychology Internship.
She is an Assistant Clinical Professor of
Psychiatry, Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She writes
articles, conducts presentations for professional audiences and welcomes
journalist interviews.
Dr. Masterson is a leader in professional associations.
Currently she is Secretary of the New York State Psychological Association (NYSPA).
She has served as President of its Clinical Division. For additional

Her distinguished academic background includes graduating
Summa Cum Laude and being class
valedictorian on full scholarship at Long Island University. She went on to earn a doctorate and
postdoctoral diploma from the prestigious Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced
Psychological Studies at Adelphi University. She also
earned a certificate in Family Therapy from the Long Island
Institute of Psychanalysis, Family Therapy Training Program.
Dr. Masterson brings energy, passion, and
commitment to public service.
She is the recipient of numerous awards,
including for disaster service following 9/11,
AA Flight 587 Crash, and the TWA

of Appreciation for outstanding service, dedication and commitment to
the Clinical Division of NYSPA.
On vacations,
she is a nature and wildlife photographer,
who ventures far from her
Brooklyn, New York roots, traveling to Africa, and volunteering and
fundraising for wildlife conservation projects.
